Pride Place is Seattle’s first affordable housing project designed to be an affirming environment for LGBTQIA+ seniors, located in the heart of Seattle’s most densely populated neighborhood, Capitol Hill. Construction included the preservation of an existing one-site landmark and character facades. The nearly 78,000 square-foot project sets six floors of type IIIA construction over two type IA levels.
The completed project features 118 affordable residential units—90 studios and 28 one-bedrooms—along with common areas and resident amenities on the top six floors. The first two floors hold tenant and property management offices, community meeting areas, and commercial spaces, with GenPride’s new offices and Senior Community Center residing on the first.
